Save Eureka

We’re big fans of Eureka, and we hated to see it go. We created these podcasts in the hopes of changing SyFy’s mind about Eureka’s cancellation, but ended up at least sending Eureka off in style by discussing each new episode (old ones, too!) and sharing what makes the show so special to us. You’ll find enjoyment and analysis of each Eureka episode here as well as cast interviews and a great wrap-up after Eureka’s bittersweet finale.

We talk about series endings, evaluate a few wrap-ups that we think did justice to our favorite shows (and some that left us hanging), and speculate […]

#44: S05E11 Mirror, Mirror

We attempt to analyze Henry’s complex motives for turning himself in; note that for a fundamentally decent guy, Henry tends toward single-minded, emotional reactions; and compare his puzzling behavior to Socrates’ insistence on accepting the death sentence handed him by a democratic jury in Athens. Juan offers some important observations based on his re-watch of […]

#43: S05E10 The Honeymooners

We sympathize with Carter’s sweet-but-crappy honeymoon plans to renovate a dilapidated love shack/death trap and explore the questions sci-fi raises about humanity with the separation of a person’s “essence” from a corporeal state. We discuss the show’s interestingly humanist view that existing in some physical form really does make you more whole, marvel at Felicia […]
