Fox Recognizes Talent When They See It

It seems that Fox wants to get in on the phenomenon that is Tricia Helfer, signing her to a one-year "talent holding" agreement, which entertainment blog Digital Spy believes may "see her appear in a series for the network, probably a drama, though she has yet to be cast to a particular project."

One thing's certain: BSGs talent list is so strong and deep that I'd bet we haven't seen the last of any of the major actors come 2009.

Indeed. I’m waiting for Michael Hogan, James Callis and Jamie Bamber to start getting their own deals. The focus seems to be on the women on this show. And while they are, indeed, phenomenal (consider that Tricia Helfer had never had a major acting role, or much of one at all other than a guest stint as a dead person on CSI, before starring in BSG and how good she is on this show) I’d like to see the guys get some kudos too. Callis and Hogan especially bring on some of the best acting I’ve seen in years every week, on screens of all sizes.

She has definitely been noticed and turned into a pop culture icon. I was a guest at a high-end formal fundraiser last week in Toronto and one woman was an (almost) dead ringer for Trisha. Hair and flair, and the once-seen teal dress from waaaaay back. I did a triple-take to make sure it wasn’t her. It was too perfect to be a coincidence – that’s when you know you’ve arrived.
