Ryan Reynolds: That’s Deadpool To You

The "Merc with a mouth" now has live action face: Ryan Reynolds is set to play Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I’m not saying I don’t have faith in Ryan -- and I've seen from other pics that the dude is ripped -- but can he bring the necessary personality to pull off Deadpool?

I'm doubtful. I could be wrong, of course. In fact, I hope I’m wrong. I hope Ryan puts on the red-and-black then proceeds to put out his cigarette in someone’s eye and steal 007’s girl on the way to the set to start filming.

That would allay my fears a great deal.

Here’s my worry: Deadpool is a crazy Merc with a huge attitude problem and a swagger that's difficult to capture. Hugh Jackman managed to capture Wolverine so well that he'll forever be linked to the clawed wonder, but it takes that kind of spark to do Deadpool justice as well. I just hope Ryan is up to it.

In either case I can’t wait to see the movie.

I’m pretty sure Ryan can pull it off.

  3. Dalamma says:

Watch Blade:Trinity and Amittyville with Reynolds and you’ll see he can play a funny but twisted character.

  4. J.D. says:

I agree with Dalamma. Ryan pulled off some really great roles in Blade: Trinity and Amittyville. If he can bring that attitude into Deadpool than he has a chance of stealing the show from Wolverine.

WAtch him in Blade trinity. HE is actually reallyy witty and can play the fun/crazy deadpool perfectly! I cant wait!

  6. Arturius says:

I agree that anyone playing deadpool will have one heck of a bar to reach but Ryan might just. He has the physique and ease with slapstick should make his acting a little easier.

  7. Rick says:

yeah if he isnt the choice to play deadpool then i ask you who is. Hes got this shit
