I voted with disapprove on both polls so far for several reasons.
First I don’t feel she is being just in her actions regarding Baltar. She is trying to ensure that he does not get a fair trial. If the Admiral is going to be a judge, then he shouldn’t be listening to what should be confidential information. If what Six has to say is that important to the security of the fleet, then the Admiral should not be a judge. (not a very strong point I know)
Second, she tried to steel an election. Which also touches at my first point a little, showing how corrupt she now is, (also a minor point)?
Third, this is I suppose the item that I can’t get over. Not only is the foundation for a caste system being forged in the fleet on her watch, but she is either oblivious to it or does not care!
We shouldn’t be surprised at this; she has already shown that she will throw out the rights of people when in her mind it the best course of action. The kidnapping of the human/cylon baby, the abolishment of abortion, the attempt at stealing a presidential election, and now seemingly heartlessly condemning groups of people and there children to be slave labor. If she spent less time drinking wine and flirting with Adama and more time with there economic condition; (and I know they have said very little about what kind of economy they have now) then perhaps there would be a fresh supply of refined fuel. After all if you cannot find workers for the refinery then pay them more, so much more that there is a line of people trying to get these jobs.
This is a simple idea, but if the production ships were federalized and the jobs were on the government payroll then increasing there wage would be very simple. I know the idea is shaking on the details, but is seems better then what is happening under her illegal administration. After all, she is not the legal president. But I have made that argument before.

Man Cav, I would have to go with ya on the disapprove thing. I think her relationship with Sr. is in conflict with both their jobs. They should hold themseleves to a higher standard.

I don’t think Rosilin has ever been a good president. From the the beginning she makes a mistake that almost got all of the civilians killed (deciding to defy adama and continue search and rescue opperations in the mini-series). And now she just seems power hungry. I would like to know why so many people approve. The only people leaving posts here are the ones saying they don’t approve.
Certainly she’s a flawed president. She’s the former secretary of education that could never in her life actually get voted into the presidency by the billions and billions of colonists there were before the attack. She’s doing the best she can in a time of war. Give her credit for trying to protect the fleet. That’s the man who sold out the human race! (inadvertantly, yes, but he’s done many other bad things since ethen)
Roslin is a great President! All you haters out there better realize that before you get thrown out an airlock.
I would never say Roslin is a bad President…because if you do she’ll kill you!!!
If you think she is such a good president Matt, why don’t you spend some time on the refinery ship?

I would point out that Roslin shouldn’t be held responsible for Adama’s listening in on private conversations. It was also clear that she drew the name randomly and was surprised that it was him.
I am also a little disconcerted at what seems to be her indifference to the social and economic problems of the fleet. Since we only have what we’re shown of her to go on, I can see why people are upset about that.
But overall – I support the Airlock. I don’t think her presidency is illegal, although it’s clearly shady. It’s hard to take a firm stand, but I’ve always thought that she does a good job, despite making mistakes.
The notion of this poll is very interesting, and i don’t mean this in a bad way. But we all know so much of Roslin’s intentions, and circumstances that the civillians in the fleet don’t know. If there was a approval poll that was equivelant in our lives, it might be like the cabinet giving their approval ratings to W. Flip flop that, and think like a member of the fleet, judging only from the life they live, and say, do you approve or not approve.
Who voted unsure? That’s so bi. Sorry I’m just really trying to make “bi†happen.
