GWC Frak Party: “The Son Also Rises”

If you’re not already attending a Frak Party — or hosting one! –join us here for the GWC online ‘party. Or hell, even if you are watching with friends, post their comments, too! There’s room for everyone, though you’ll have to bring your own snacks…

And, since we record the podcast right after the episode, we’ll check in here first to see what you had to say in real-time. Sweet.

See you here tonight!

PS: We haven’t (thankfully) heard any spoilers, but I’d guess things are going to get even more strange tonight — and in the coming weeks. Does anyone else get the feeling we’re about to drop off a cliff? See you at the edge tonight.

Happy episode everyone. See you whenever iTunes decides to put up the episode this week.

I agree this is likely to be a LOT going on these next episodes. I can’t wait.

BTW – there is a fairly longe media article regarding Starbuck over at for any who are interested. Nothing we haven’t discussed here in one form or another but always nice seeing BSG get some ink.

  2. Aleigh says:

I have a feeling that we are in for a very LOOOONNNGGGG wait until January 2008!

  3. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

Im watching live, and hosting a frak party, see ya soon

  4. Sean O'Hara says:

Aleigh, I have to agree with the long wait. I can’t stand it. However we have some good stuff lined up for you guys during the break. 😉

  5. frank says:

alright lets go, tears have been shed, people lost, let see what they have for us this week!!

  6. Cavatar says:

I am curious to see how the show changes without Starbuck.

  7. The 13th Cylon says:

Whoo! I haven’t frakked since the last time we all met. I don’t even know what this episode is about, really.

  8. Joe says:

    Ahahahahaha… I LOVE STARBUCK!

  9. Cavatar says:

Law and Order Galactica here we come.

  10. Cavatar says:

He’s dead Jim…oh wait wrong serise.

  11. frank says:

action, i reeaallyy missed it now it is back!!

  12. Cavatar says:

Anyone notice that the human count droped exactly one person from last week.

  13. The 13th Cylon says:

Yep, and we also lost our actress in the opening credits.

  14. frank says:

    good catch Cavatar.

Thank the Gods, Racetrack is OK, there is only so much my fragile heart can take anymore.

  15. Promethia says:

Loved, loved the card. Laughed for 30 seconds straight.

  16. Saberhawk says:

Yep – with Kat and Starbuck gone – Racetrack and Seelix are all we have left – among the human pilots.

  17. wraith1701 says:

…Sam is really taking this hard…

  18. Carol says:

I feel like Legolas in Lothlorien after Gandolf was lost, and it was not yet time for song for him (while I appreciate the attempt at levity (Starbuck in glasses and mustache), it’s too soon).

  19. Cavatar says:

So much for Lee coming into his own…he is falling apart.

  20. frank says:

doesn’t look like hotdog is scratching anymore, hopefully he got some medicine.

  21. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

  22. Carol says:

Cat? Cat?? I thought they were staying away from recogizable animals?

  23. Saberhawk says:

Anyone think the cat is a cylon?

  24. Cavatar says:

    Helo…CAG??? WHAT?

  25. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

    queen piolot

  26. Joe says:

I thought Helo was the Mayor of Dogsville? How can he be CAG and Mayor? That doesn’t make much sense.

  27. frank says:

I’m with you Cavatar, Helo is aan ECO, not a pilot!!!! I guess he’s not taking care of refugees anymore?

  28. Carol says:

Ok, so, guesss on the bomb maker? Anders certainly created bombs
on New Caprica, but he’s too distressed dealing with Kara’s loss. Chief
might be a good bet. Or Gaeta. Heck, Saul’s a good choice, as well.

  29. Joe says:

Carol, I think that’s the same device Chief was holding during the intro

  30. frank says:

Anders makes sense, he’s on Galactica, and they need something for him to do now.

  31. Promethia says:

Loving the new lawyer too. I am utterly starved for levity.

  32. wraith1701 says:

    Carol- re. using earth animals:

They had a dog at the start of this season.

Remember the dog food dish that Felix used as a dead-drop for the resistance?

  33. Cavatar says:

Wait…why is Kelley trying to keep Lee off the Raptor…dont to this to me???

Thanks Frank…I cant picture Helo as CAG

  34. Saberhawk says:

    Its a bomb sniffin cat

  35. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

    DAMN Adamas scaey

  36. Joe says:

Yet again, there’s another ridiculous text question. Who comes up with this stuff?

  37. Carol says:

True ’nuff, wraith1701, I had temporarily spaced that

  38. The 13th Cylon says:

That was great stuff chasing the cat around! I think anyone with a pet has been there and done that. lol

  39. frank says:

These frakkin sci fi polls, what the hell are they thinkin? If anyone wants to waste the 99 cents send it to me, please!!!!

We haven’s seen Kelley in a while, have we?

  40. Promethia says:

Leave it to the Adamas to cope with loss in the worst possible way.

Just when I think the text message polls can’t get any stupider . . .

  41. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

    the cell had cut corners

  42. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

i get it the cat is the new daggitt im so happy o so happy

  43. Saberhawk says:

I love this lawyer – cross between Neo and Agent Smith.

  44. frank says:

good to see six back, still hot!!!!!!

  45. Cavatar says:

OMG….I just noticed the sun glasses

  46. Zack says:

I dont want to say anything about this lawyer dude. But there is something a bit off about him.

And I say more smith then neo. haha

  47. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

what just happened my frak party got really loud

  48. Carol says:

    Ohhhhh, he’s goooood (lawyer)

  49. Cavatar says:

Cylon or not…Laura and Adama had no right to listen in.

  50. Carol says:

Cavatar, what? what? What’d I miss about the sun glasses?

  51. Saberhawk says:

They are building up the background for Joe Adama in Caprica.

  52. Cavatar says:

Why else drop the name….espcially after he said “dont do this to me” to Lee….it has to be him

  53. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

    im really likin this lawyer

  54. The 13th Cylon says:

Hmm… this episode isn’t really doing it for me so far. It seems like one of those “throw away” episodes.

  55. Saberhawk says:

The lawyer helps take the “sting” out of losing Starbuck. He is a very interesting character and the actor is doing a great job.

  56. Promethia says:

“Hmm… this episode isn’t really doing it for me so far. It seems like one of those “throw away” episodes.”

    I’d say more of a set-up episode.

  57. Carol says:

Cavatar, yeah, I like the Kelley theory.

  58. Sean O'Hara says:

Man badger is totally ripping it up as the lawyer

  59. wraith1701 says:

This lawyer guy is an interesting character.
There is definately more to him than meets the eye. What is his deal?

    What was his name again?

  60. Sean O'Hara says:

I can’t remember his show name but he’s the guy who played Badger on Firefly

  61. Joe says:

    Why’s he steal stuff, now?

  62. Zack says:

13th i’m agreeing with you. YAWN!

BTW what was the admiral doing with his uniform in the room?

  63. Sean O'Hara says:

He’s like the Columbo of lawyers

  64. frank says:

Carol, Cav, you guys nailed it, Kelley is the guy!!!

  65. Zack says:

Mark Sheppard is his name Sean.

  66. Sean says:

    Sweet! Tks Zack

  67. Cavatar says:

    Now both Adama’s wineing

  68. Zack says:

    an Adama showdown!

  69. Cavatar says:

    Nothing is the same anymore.

  70. Joe says:

My favorite parts of this episode were in the first four minutes.

  71. Cavatar says:

Hope everyone enjoyed the episode…cant wait for the podcast…later all.

  72. The 13th Cylon says:

I thought Lee got all his betraying Pop stuff out back in season 2 when he teamed up with Roslin and Zarek after Tigh declared martial law.

  73. frank says:

I was kind of hoping for a funeral or something. This one was kinda deep. I must reflect.

I hope they come up with a story for Anders, he’s a good character, if they use him.

  74. Sean says:

oh man, lawyer boy knows his stuff. He’s a total puppet master.

  75. Saberhawk says:

As setup episodes go – I think we may look back and think higher of this one. If the laywyer lives he is going to be very interesting. I do agree on the slowness, but I think there is some depth yet to be delved into.

  76. The 13th Cylon says:

Oh Six is screwed! Nobody pisses off Tigh and gets away with it.

  77. Joe says:

Holy Craaaaap! Did anyone see the preview for next week?! Call back to the mini-series!

  78. wraith1701 says:

    Whoa! Six vs Tigh…

Next week’s episode is going to kick butt!!! 🙂

  79. Sean says:

You never outgrow betraying pop stuff.

  80. frank says:

Next week looks like Tigh gets punched again!!!!!!!!!

looks good. He is turning out to be a total punching bag!!!!

  81. Zack says:

OOOHH! Here comes the cat fight of the century Tigh vs Six. Taking bets now! haha. yeah filler episode. A ok episode. Cant wait for the podcast, first frak party nice reading the comments. later guys.

  82. Aleigh says:

Imagine a lawyer who is slighty shady…Cool episode. I kinda liked the cut scene-I wished it had been in.

  83. The 13th Cylon says:

To be a lying cheating Cylon, it sure was easy to get Six to change her mind. Lawyers have the ability to do that, you know.

    Sorry Lawyer Bill! lol

  84. frank says:

Well gang, good episode, I guess we only got two left now before the big break.

By the way GWC crew, got the Rolling Stone issue, good write up, hope you remember all us little people once you guys get agents and turn big time!!!!

Audra could be a contestant on American Idol, Sean could be some action star (stick to Sci-fi, it looks more fun), and Chuck, sorry dude, your stuck with voiceover work.

    Heres to a great podcast!!!!!!!!!!!

  85. Its Boxey (O gods no) says:

    it was good YEAH MAC
yeah first 4 is kep first 4 mins.
    4 eps

  86. Retro says:

The Lawyers parent were killed for the money in their pockets…Holy crap! He’s Batman.

  87. The 13th Cylon says:

Ha ha! For some reason I’m watching the re-run and Cally just said the bit about “because it’s justice”. Hmm… I thought Cally took justice into her own hands a while back with Sharon. And she still doesn’t like that model too much.

  88. Joe says:

That says a lot about Cally and is the main theme of the show. Cylons are machines and don’t get trials and justice for them is to dismantle the machine if it malfunctions.

  89. Proton says:

Racetrack can’t die yet. She must fulfil her destiny of finding earth, dieing and finding out she’s really a cylon.

  90. The 13th Cylon says:

    Racetrack is the new Starbuck.

  91. Chuck says:

That was a really painful slip, wasn’t it? That even caught me up short…

Hey — quick note: The podcast’s in post right now, and should be out in the next couple of hours. “Lawyer Bill” guests briefly to cover the legal elements of the show. Interesting stuff.

  92. john patrick says:

I think we just saw the final episode for Anders. Bye for now, Michael Trucco.

What he was doing on the bucket, anyway? Can civvies just run around on Galactica?

  93. MartianAlien25 says:

Sounds like our GWC theories are starting to come true, we are in for a very long wait until next season. We are all going to be hanging on this edge for a while wondering about Starbuck, the trial, and all of the subplots.

This new lawyer is an interesting fellow…

  94. Sean O'Hara says:

John I was wondering what Anders was doing there myself, though I can come up with a few reasons…

    1. He’s there to collect her stuff b/c he is still technically her Husband and next of kin.

    2. He might have a civie gig that brings him to the bucket now and then and he just got a bit trashed at the bar and decided to cruise the hanger deck.

Either way I think it was kewl he’s still around. Great character!

  95. john patrick says:

I think it was his farewell. 🙁

  96. Carol says:

I hope not, Anders is a great character. It would be stupid to lose him.

  97. Tigh's Eyepatch says:

Sean, John, good catch. I found it odd that the Chief would freak out about a cat on his deck, but doesn’t think twice about a drunk and grieving pyramid player traipsing all over a viper…

That being said, I like how Anders is so obviously hurting. I hope that wasn’t the last well see of him.
