Now, SyFy isn’t as good anymore. There are not many Sci-fi shows in syndication. Plus, the biggest “sci-fi” craze is vampires. I could watch some of Buffy…but there’s too much Twilight influence.

I miss X-Files, Star Treks series, Battlestar Galactica, even Dark Angel. It seems like there will be a Star Wars series. But, that is still a few years away.

We need more sci-fi set in space.

And yes in case you can’t tell I am a Big Time Trekkie! So much so that me and a few mates recently had a heated debate (in public lol) about who was better, Picard or Kirk. I’m a Kirk man myself!

In all, I dropped my monthly expenses about $125, and I haven’t regretted anything.

Heck, i even liked the Berbil episode 2 weeks ago!

Now that I can pick it up now with a more modern computer, it should be fun

Lets just hope I don’t get motion sickness (first happened when I was playing HL2. (hence why I like games like Batman – over the shoulder).

For those that have the pc version Crysis or Crysis Warhead there is a great total conversion mod based on the Mechwarrior universe.

You might also want to check out Crysis Warhead. I don’t know if that has been ported to Xbox yet, but it is basically a new camping along the same lines as Crysis. You play as Psycho, the british guy from the first game. In my opinion, it is a little shorter, and a little more fun.

I religiously played that game for several months after release. First run through I did my “kill absolutely” everything that get’s in my way, Next, time out I tried to keep the body count low. Both were fun fun. The suit and the options you can use with it in your drive to win are really cool. The alien nest thing was vomit inducing in it’s weirdness (in a good way). Great story line for a shooter/stealth game. Well worth my coins and time.

I just can’t play fps games on the xbox near as good as i can the pc, or i’d be happy to hop in with you.

I would have some concerns with all of this tech and having children these days.
I’m not sure if many of the children and young adults I know even know how to “disconnect” (even for a little while).

I’d like to see a Modern Geek podcast with advice on how teach our kids to be responsible and safe while using all this tech. How to protect/monitor kids internet experience and when is a good age for a kid to get a cellphone, or texting capability. That sort of thing.

I love all the gadgets, always have. Some I could afford, others, not so much. They expand my world. And they are soooo much fun.

I’m guessing you can also just listen to Modern Geek to see if there is anything you are missing. =)

I saw our last cable bill- combined internet,cable TV (STARZ/HBO) and HubAZ’s business phone/fax lines – is about $220 a month. That isn’t including mobile phones ($25 for each SonAZ) or the land line (different provider). It’s likely we’re paying to much.

I’m the type of person that if I let myself buy into all this new tech I would have a complete virtual life, but not much of a real one.

I believe it is important to use this new technology responsibility as well.

While it’s possible to talk on a cell, text, and surf the web 24/7 any place anytime these days… Should we? It seems like the tech is advancing faster that society’s edicate for using it. Look at the incidents of people texting while driving or the idiot shouting on his cell at a resturant.

It was the first piece of ink I’d had done, in Boston, perhaps nine or ten years ago, and still one of my most dear. It’s a constant reminder to me that as we turn, and reflect, sometimes pleased with the change, other times disheartened by our errors, we are always walking a path, and the destination is almost irrelevant.

Don’t tell me I have to invest in yet ANOTHER show simply because they share my tattoos… =)

Dragon*Con is the costumer’s con. If you can imagine it, it’s being cosplay’d at D*C. SDCC has some great stuff, and with so many more people there might be as many costumers, but you don’t find them as easily. At D*C you can’t go somewhere without seeing some awesome outfits. Also, some tracks at D*C are actually 24hrs, so there is ALWAYS a con event going on somewhere

I’d also like to mention, the Parade pic you have with the Dr Who lookalike is actually from a previous year, as that is my friend Ryan. Ryan is a great costumer and 501st member from Tennessee and has been in a coma for a few months now. If you noticed the signs being held around D*C with his face on there, it’s something the DrWho costuming group was doing for him as he’s normally always there.
