Welcome
GWC is a community of friendly people who enjoy and participate in geekdom as a whole. We are young and old, female and male, writers and readers, teachers and students, philosophers and skeptics, Browncoats and Trekkies, outside continents and beyond countries -- and we have one thing in common: passionate, shameless enthusiasm.
We’re interested in TV shows, movies, comics, novels, gaming, science, and music. We’re interested in each other. We like to chat about just about any topic. We’ll listen and give informed feedback, and at the end of the day we think of GWC as a clubhouse for a (very large) group of friends.

AUDRA!
This is like 10 seconds after I heard you say that in the Podcast.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is like my family’s TOPMOST Christmas Tradition and we’re here on the other side of the Atlantic, the movie’s called “Hilfe, es weihnachtet sehr” here and it all started like in the mid-90s when my Dad made everybody watch it like a week before Christmas and he still watches it every year with my little brother. And the funniest thing is that last Wednesday, I made my friends at the dorm watch the movie with me and they laughed their butts off … I enjoy it every year…
I work at Home Depot and this was the apron that I have been wearing for Christmas. It was painted for me by a friend.

I listened to your chat about license tags and dentist. Believe it or not some proctologists do have a sense of humor and tags. On a very fancy sports car his first tag was Rear Admiral. Since he was in the navy it really fit him. Then years later his tag changed to tush MD. He stated that he realized that his wife out ranked him so she now has the admiral tag.
Great apron, John B!!
All you guys are great!
I’m listening to this podcast… figured I’d mention something about “Grandpa Goo”.
The actor’s name is Campbell Lane. He’s got a long and illustrious career listed over at IMDB.
I know his voice from the PC games: “Homeworld”, “Homeworld: Cataclysm” and “Homeworld 2″. He played the voice of an alien race called “The Bentusi”.
Why this particular actor stands out:
A friend suggested I start watching Battlestar Galactica. I recalled it being a pathetic show and balked. But he appealed to a game I’d played and said: “It’s kinda like… The Matrix meets Homeworld.”
Intrigued I decided to check it out. I’ve followed it ever since. So I just about fell off my chair when I heard Lane’s voice as the Hybrid. I recognized it, I’m somewhat embarrassed to say, from the first syllable he spoke. His voice is very distinctive.
